About The Position

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking an experienced, mechanically-savvy Senior Field Service Engineer to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives on taking ownership of complex technical challenges and delivering world-class customer service. Based in the NE-Boston area, the engineer will play a critical role in supporting groundbreaking science across Boston, NY, CT, and NJ, ensuring customers maximize the potential of Oxford Nanopore's sequencing technology.

Requirements

A BS (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
At least 5 years of field service experience, ideally within laboratory diagnostics or life science instrumentation.
Professional proficiency in Linux OS, IT networking, and CRM platforms like Salesforce.
A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
A valid driver’s license.
Flexibility for frequent regional travel (up to 70%), with occasional travel across the US, Canada, and Latin America.

NGS experience is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding on-site and remote technical support to customers.
Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs of advanced sequencing instruments.
Conduct training sessions to ensure customers can successfully implement and operate the technology.
Identify and resolve intricate technical issues by applying knowledge of Linux and IT systems.
Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure flawless service delivery.
Maintain detailed records of services provided and customer interactions.
Submit service reports, expense reports, and work orders in a timely manner.
Drive continuous improvement via feedback to Manager and Internal Teams.
Manage and maintain inventory of service parts.
