This role assists the Project Engineer as the technical source of information for the project, responding to questions about drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders. The position involves assisting in writing change orders, RFIs, meeting minutes, and reviewing submittals, while maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders. This position includes three steps (I, II, and Senior), with the 'Senior' step designated for employees with over 4 years of experience or experience on larger/more complex projects.

Requirements

  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others is essential.
  • Entry-level position that normally requires a four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical/field experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) proficiency.

  • More than 4 years of experience and/or experience on significantly larger or more complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other work tasks.
  • Assists with or reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFIs, and budget forecasting.
  • Ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval, and disposition of meeting agendas, RFIs, and daily reports.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the project management plan (PMP) and supports its execution.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of the change management process and performs project scope activities.
  • Supports the project team to ensure the work needed to complete the project successfully.
  • Ensures the administration of the project quality management plan.
  • Demonstrates and reinforces a culture of safety throughout the project.
  • May assist in the calculation of daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work.
  • Participates in risk management including identification, analysis, response planning, and monitoring and control on a project.
  • Demonstrates competency in understanding environmental control processes for the project and takes corrective actions when necessary.
  • May be responsible for overseeing/managing the BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordination between Subcontractors and Designers.
  • May be responsible for the documentation and submittal for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification of a building.
  • May be responsible for creating and updating Digital Record Drawings (ORD).
  • May provide lines, grades, and layout as required for the project while maintaining an organized logbook.
  • May provide weekly quantities, maintain accurate quantity logs, and report quantities in compliance with the cost control manual.
  • Performs elements of budgeting and cost control processes to ensure the project is completed within the approved budget.
  • Demonstrates business acumen within the area of responsibility.
  • Provides support to superintendents required for the execution of the work.
  • Assists in the resolution of field problems as necessary.
