Senior Field Engineer
About The Position
SAIC is seeking a Senior Field Engineer in Portsmouth, VA. This role involves building and testing hardware and software for Windows and Nutanix based systems, patching computer and network devices, and PITCO testing and setup of hardware. The engineer will troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and specifically troubleshoot serial connections, network connectivity, and RF and time systems. Responsibilities also include logging and responding to site tickets, troubleshooting legacy hardware, and repairing units for system sustainment. The role requires assessing product needs based on customer specifications, acting as the local on-site representative to the customer organization, participating in on-site system integrations, and developing/updating system and process documentation.
Requirements
- Related bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience or Master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience.
- Technical Training in Electronics, Computers, or Networking or successful completion of U.S. Navy electronics “C” school.
- Experience in C4I Systems environments to include: systems requirements, operational requirements, test and evaluation.
- Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP certification within 6 months of hire.
- Must have an active Secret security clearance to start and then must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Experience building and installing infrastructure.
- Must be able to obtain U.S. Passport.
