Senior Field Engineer
About The Position
The Senior Field Engineer will participate in projects through all phases of the project cycle, including construction reporting, billing, take-offs, quantities, submittals, ordering, customer documents, project timecards, invoice processing, and final document submittals. This role involves establishing baseline schedule reporting based on job estimates, requesting submittals and shop drawings, and collecting/entering daily quantities. The engineer will coordinate and support the timely completion of traffic control plans, equipment mobilization, safety plans, purchase ordering, and job costing. They will also request, review, and track shop drawings and submittals from subcontractors, submitting them to the owner and design team via the Procore construction management system. A key part of the role includes reviewing and interpreting civil engineering plans, profiles, cross-sections, and specifications to ensure constructability and compliance with standards. The engineer will provide input on plans and specifications during design progression (60%, 90%, 100%), perform engineering quantity calculations and material take-offs on Bluebeam for heavy civil and infrastructure projects, and produce preliminary plans and drawings to detail project portions for constructability, ensuring appropriate means and methods are used.

- Collect and enter daily quantities
- Coordinate and support timely completion of traffic control plans, equipment mobilization, safety plans, purchase ordering, job costing, and other duties as required
- Request, review, and track shop drawings and submittals from subcontractors and submit them to the owner and design team through the Procore construction management system
- Review and interpret civil engineering plans, profiles, cross-sections, and specifications to verify constructability and compliance with applicable standards (e.g., DOT, municipal, and project-specific requirements)
- Review and provide input on plans and specifications throughout the design progression at 60%, 90% and 100%
- Perform engineering quantity calculations and material take-offs on Bluebeam based on civil construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents, including roadway, utility, structural, and traffic control elements for heavy civil and infrastructure projects
- Produce preliminary plans and drawings that further detail portions of the project for constructability and perform calculations to ensure that the appropriate means and methods are utilized
