NJM's Appraisal Department is seeking to fill a Senior Field Auto Damage Appraiser (Staff Auto Appraiser, Senior is the official NJM Title ) to travel throughout Middlesex County and Northern Monmouth County. The Appraiser is responsible for Inspecting first and third-party vehicle damage and then providing, scheduling and writing estimates within Company guidelines at residences, shops or tow yards based on assignments received. This position will work from home when not in the field. NJM does not provide a company vehicle for mileage reimbursement is offered.

Requirements

  • Customer service skills and experience
  • Familiar with CCC One Estimating platform
  • Multi-tasking, problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making abilities.
  • Technical aptitude, including working knowledge with estimating systems
  • Own vehicle and have reliable transportation.
  • Adequate space for a home office and ability to work in an unsupervised environment.
  • Minimum of 6 Years Body Shop experience and/or related insurance experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Regular and predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of the job.

  • I-Car Certified

Responsibilities

  • Contacting and arranging schedules with customers, autobody shops and tow yards
  • Inspecting, photographing and appraising damage to vehicles involved in an automobile accident or loss.
  • Estimate parts and labor to repair damage, using standard automotive labor and parts-cost software.
  • Evaluate practicality of repair as opposed to payment of market value of vehicle before accident.
  • Review repair-cost estimates with automobile repair shop to secure agreement on cost of repairs.
  • Complete, review, and reconcile supplemental repair estimates
  • Estimates are created and negotiated based on company guidelines and applicable law.
  • Reinspect and review estimates for accuracy and conformity to Company guidelines.
