About The Position

The Senior Federal Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) serves as a technical integrator responsible for ensuring that system-to-system connections across federal boundaries are properly documented, approved, and compliant with all required cybersecurity and interoperability standards. This role operates upstream of A&A, supporting project teams during system design and throughout the connectivity approval lifecycle, but does not participate in the Assess & Authorize (A&A) process itself. The ISSE will collaborate with internal project teams, external agency partners, network engineers, and cybersecurity stakeholders to gather system connectivity details, generate and manage Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM) documentation, support Authority to Connect (ATC) submissions, and assist with Line of Sight (LOS) testing and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • 10+ years combined higher education and relevant professional experience
  • 3+ years in information systems security, network security, or boundary protection roles
  • 7+ years of higher education
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship (required by contract)

  • Experience with federal PPSM processes, boundary security teams, or cross-domain solutions

Responsibilities
