About The Position

Virginia Tech’s (VT) Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI) is recruiting for an exceptional investigator in cancer research at the level of Professor or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will have a strong record of independently funded basic or translational cancer research, along with demonstrated commitment to faculty mentorship. This new position is part of a major research initiative by the Virginia Tech’s FBRI and will be located in our new facility based at the Children’s National Research and Innovation Campus in Washington DC. Faculty at the DC campus have particular interest in precision oncology, cancer genomics, immunotherapy, neuro-oncology, and hematological malignancies. The successful candidate will primarily be expected to maintain a high-quality, extramurally-funded cancer research program. They will also have the opportunity to participate in some teaching of graduate students and to serve as a research mentor for VT graduate, medical and undergraduate students. Appropriately qualified candidates may additionally be considered for the role of deputy director of the FBRI Cancer Research Center - DC. Requirements

Earned doctorate (PhD, MD, and/or DVM)
Postdoctoral research experience
At least five years as faculty or equivalent
Record of accomplishment and research productivity through high-quality publications
Sustained and current extramural funding
