About The Position

Ornge is seeking a committed and forward-thinking Faculty Educator or Senior Faculty Educator, Quality Improvement to advance clinical excellence through education, quality improvement, and data-informed practice. This role is central to strengthening patient outcomes by integrating education, clinical performance evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives into practice. Working within the Clinical Affairs portfolio, the successful candidate will design, deliver, and evaluate programs that directly influence clinician performance, patient safety, and system-wide quality outcomes. Depending on experience, education, and demonstrated leadership capability, the role may be staffed at the Faculty Educator or Senior Faculty Educator level.

Requirements

  • Professional education in a relevant clinical discipline (e.g., paramedicine, nursing, respiratory therapy).
  • Minimum 5 years of independent clinical practice experience.
  • Experience in adult education and learner assessment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical quality assurance, quality improvement methodologies, and patient safety principles.
  • Master’s degree required (for Senior level).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading quality improvement initiatives, clinical performance analysis, or healthcare data interpretation (for Senior level).
  • Experience working with clinical or educational data to support decision-making is an asset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) strongly preferred (for Senior level).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction across assigned programs, ensuring safe, effective, and engaging learning environments.
  • Design, update, and evaluate educational content using evidence-informed practices, simulation-based training, and adult learning principles.
  • Evaluate learner progression, course effectiveness, and program outcomes to support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and quality improvement activities, including call reviews, clinical investigations, course evaluations, and assessment of learning outcomes.
  • Analyze clinical and educational data (e.g., patient care metrics, learner performance, operational data) to identify trends and inform improvements.
  • Support certification and credentialing processes, including maintenance-of-certification requirements and QA audits aligned with Base Hospital standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders and the Quality & Patient Safety team to align education, clinical standards, and quality priorities.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to evaluate current practices and integrate innovative, evidence-informed improvements into clinical and educational programs.
  • Lead clinical performance reviews and investigations, synthesizing data from multiple sources to evaluate care delivery and identify system-level improvement opportunities.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate organization-wide quality improvement initiatives, including development of KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Translate complex clinical and operational data into actionable insights for clinical teams, leadership, and external partners.
  • Develop and advance clinical guidelines, medical directives, and evidence-informed practice resources.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to educators and clinical partners, supporting capability-building in quality improvement and clinical performance evaluation.
  • Contribute to system-level program design, evaluation frameworks, and strategic quality initiatives aligned with organizational and regulatory priorities.
