About The Position

Lifecore is seeking a Senior Facility Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversight of facility infrastructure and utility systems. This role will lead facility-related projects, support manufacturing operations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Lifecore’s Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 5–8 years of facility engineering experience, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering projects from concept through execution.
  • Extensive experience with cleanroom environments (ISO Class 5–8) and associated compliance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of pure water systems, including distillation, WFI, reverse osmosis, and UV disinfection.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs and regulatory requirements impacting pharmaceutical and/or medical device manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of standard maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Experience authoring technical documentation (SOPs, PM procedures, protocols, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, filters, motors, steam systems, and air handling systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, including low/high voltage troubleshooting, VFDs, and building automation systems.
  • Familiarity with validation methodologies.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (P&IDs, layouts, and related drawings).
  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections and customer audits.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate facility engineering projects, including planning, execution, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful delivery of objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for facility infrastructure systems (HVAC, chillers, boilers, pumps, filtration systems, motors, and security systems).
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize and manage facility projects, preventative maintenance activities, and work orders.
  • Lead and support technical investigations related to facility equipment and system performance.
  • Evaluate facility systems and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as the primary engineering resource for facility design changes, including mechanical, electrical, and layout modifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to contractors, vendors, architects, and engineering firms supporting capital projects.
  • Support planning and management of Facility Engineering and Maintenance budgets.
  • Provide work direction and support to maintenance personnel to ensure effective execution of maintenance activities.
