About The Position

The Senior Facility Manager serves as the strategic leader and primary point of contact for a manufacturing site facilities and occupants, acting as the principal service provider liaison and trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders. This role ensures the JLL team—including employees and third-party partners—delivers comprehensive facility management and workplace services that maintain safe, code-compliant, functional, comfortable, energy-efficient, and attractive facilities and site infrastructure across complex manufacturing operations. Also, provides strategic oversight of multi-site operating expense budgets, capital planning initiatives, and long-term facility roadmaps. This position manages gray area (GAP) maintenance projects and capital improvement programs per client specifications and timelines, while championing cost-competitive and resource-efficient delivery methods for both high-volume small-dollar projects and strategic capital initiatives. The role embeds a culture of safety, compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across new and established manufacturing sites while mentoring and developing facility management teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive Life Sciences facility management experience with demonstrated leadership in GMP manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record of successfully establishing, scaling, and optimizing operations at multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Extensive experience leading multi-site facility management operations with P&L responsibility exceeding $10M annually.
  • Extensive experience developing and supporting compliant Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training programs in regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GxP, FDA, and regulatory requirements in Life Sciences manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience leading capital planning, major renovation projects, and facility expansion initiatives.
  • Experience with CMMS systems, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and facility management technology platforms.
  • Strategic vendor management experience including contract negotiations, performance management, and partnership development.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering exceptional internal and external customer service aligned with JLL's Client Focus value.
  • Strong change management and organizational development capabilities.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, complex, and ambiguous environments.
  • Executive presence with ability to represent JLL at the highest levels of client organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as senior Client Relationship Manager and strategic advisor to executive stakeholders across multiple manufacturing sites, developing long-term facility management strategies aligned with client business objectives and expansion plans.
  • Champion a "Safety First" culture enterprise-wide while serving as senior compliance leader, ensuring rigorous adherence to all EHS, GxP, SLA, KPI, and regulatory requirements across JLL teams and vendor partners in GMP manufacturing environments.
  • Provide strategic oversight of all IFM services including operations, maintenance, utilities, engineering, janitorial, laboratory services, security, waste management, and capital planning across the portfolio.
  • Master multi-site contract scope and proactively manage service delivery to exceed commitments while identifying opportunities to enhance customer experience, drive cost savings, and lead vendor consolidation initiatives.
  • Establish strategic site-level and portfolio goals with senior leadership, ensuring 100% on-time completion of critical preventive maintenance, training programs, and audit responses while driving continuous improvement.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives including demand response programs, zero-waste initiatives, renewable energy adoption, and measurable environmental performance improvements.
  • Build and lead high-performing facility management teams through strategic talent acquisition, development, mentorship, and succession planning while driving employee engagement and championing diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide strategic oversight of multi-site operating expenses and capital budgets, conducting variance analysis, developing comprehensive annual budgets and multi-year capital plans, and documenting measurable ROI on all savings initiatives.
  • Drive innovation and business development by identifying scope expansion opportunities, leading complex service transitions, championing new technologies, and mentoring junior managers in client relationship management.
  • Represent JLL at industry forums, client executive meetings, and professional organizations while leading benchmarking initiatives and continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence methodologies.
