About The Position

Perform preventive and repair maintenance on various building systems and equipment. Oversee work groups as directed by the Property Manager. This role requires a broad knowledge of building construction and maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems. The position involves responding to maintenance requests, ensuring safe work conditions, and maintaining adequate supplies and parts.

Requirements

Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and any shift.
Must be willing to work in varying outdoor/indoor weather conditions and environments at a variety of tasks.
Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures including grooming standards and safety regulations.
Must be willing to maintain strict security of the total energy plant engine room as well as the complete facility.
Must be willing to maintain a home telephone for emergency calls.
Must be willing to acquire and use personal hand tools to perform job duties.
Must have a working knowledge of electrical circuitry, plumbing, carpentry, and air handlers and controls.
Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to assist all personnel in a professional manner.
Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
Previous experience as a maintenance repair person.
Extensive knowledge of building construction and maintenance trades.
Must be able to comprehend service manuals, read gauges, write reports and logs, maintain timecards, etc.
Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.

Nice To Haves

May be required to operate a forklift with appropriate certification(s).

Responsibilities

Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems including lighting, electrical power distribution, air lines, natural gas lines, hot water heating lines, domestic hot water lines, domestic cold-water lines, drainage lines, fire sprinkler systems, shop equipment, air handlers, fan coil units, evaporative coolers, lavatory fixtures, building hardware, furniture, gates, and fences, hoists, pumps, and motors, and shop oil and solvent supply lines.
Responds to all reasonable requests for maintenance service.
Be alert to other tasks which need to be done.
Works safely at all times.
Adheres to all applicable safety policies.
Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Maintains good housekeeping and safe work conditions.
Makes recommendations for changes or improvements to safety practices and housekeeping.
Maintains proper safety practices.
Maintains adequate supplies, parts, and equipment levels.
Oversees assigned contracted service operations.
Completes other assignments as requested by the supervisor.
