As a Senior Facilities Gas Engineer at Micron, the role involves developing, planning, and supporting site gas distribution systems for semiconductor manufacturing facilities. This position holds engineering responsibility for bulk and specialty gas systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Collaboration across various departments is crucial during the development, construction, installation, and maintenance phases to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience producing clear, accurate engineering documentation and build deliverables
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience supporting semiconductor facilities or high-purity gas systems
  • Knowledge of specialty gas systems, purification, analyzers, and monitoring infrastructure (e.g., SCADA)
  • Experience with capacity planning, risk analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Ability to lead build reviews and support construction and commissioning activities

Responsibilities

  • Build and engineer bulk and specialty gas distribution systems to support safe and reliable fab operations
  • Develop and review equipment specifications, material compatibility requirements, and critical spare parts
  • Provide detailed engineering builds, calculations, and documentation for new installations and system modifications
  • Support capacity planning, system load tracking, and scenario analysis aligned to manufacturing demand
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants on build reviews, construction support, and issue resolution
  • Perform system inspections, startup and commissioning support, and ensure accurate as-built documentation
  • Find opportunities for performance improvement, risk reduction, and cost optimization using standard engineering methods
