About The Position

The Senior Fabricator is a highly skilled worker responsible for precisely cutting, shaping, welding and assembling metal components using a variety of fabrication machines, tools and techniques. Other abilities include a deep understanding or quality measures, mentoring junior fabricators, and ensuring adherence to strict specifications and deadlines, advanced knowledge of blueprints, welding techniques, and various machinery. The ability to maintain safety standards within a manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is located in our assembly plant in Franklin, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
  • Expertise in various welding techniques like MIG, TIG, and arc welding
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance with industry standards

Responsibilities

  • Meeting the production schedule by reviewing production orders, workflow, and capacity planning to meet the on-time delivery of parts.
  • Interpreting technical drawings by accurately reading and understanding complex blueprints and engineering drawings to determine fabrication requirements.
  • Precision cutting and shaping utilizing a variety of fabrication equipment including saws, shears, presses, grinders, and hand tools to cut, bend, shape, and assemble parts.
  • Performing complex welding operations using MIG, TIG, or other welding methods to join metal pieces with high precision and quality.
  • Assembly and fitting by aligning and fitting fabricated components together to create complete assemblies, ensuring proper tolerance and fit.
  • Quality control by conducting thorough inspections of finished products to identify and rectify any defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Mentorship and training by providing guidance and training to less experienced fabricators on proper techniques, safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Problem-solving capability to identify and troubleshoot fabrication issues that may arise.
  • Maintaining equipment by properly operating and maintaining fabrication machinery, including routine cleaning and reporting any maintenance needs.
  • Contributing to project planning by estimating timelines and material requirements for complex fabrication projects.
