About The Position

The Washington Post is seeking a highly organized and professional Senior Events Producer to join the Washington Post Live and Events Group teams. This person will plan and execute high-profile live programs and summits, client activations and intimate convenings across a wide variety of stakeholders, including c-suite executives and external clients and partners. The ideal candidate is an operational powerhouse with impeccable attention to detail, a proactive and solution-oriented mindset and the poise to represent the company at the highest levels of business and social interaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in event management and/or as a personal assistant, including significant prior experience planning events specifically for C-suite executives or VIPs
  • Demonstrated professional maturity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once in fast-paced environments with tight timelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Calm under pressure, nimble in your decision-making, and unflappable when things shift on site.
  • Comfortable working early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends when events require.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with tools like Asana, Google Workspace, SocialTables, or production scheduling platforms is a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, communications, media production, journalism, event management, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for event stakeholders, including c-suite executives and clients, anticipating needs and translating their strategic vision into flawlessly executed events
  • Manage all phases of event production, including concept development, budget management, venue selection, contract negotiation, vendor management (catering, A/V, security, travel logistics), day of execution and post-event
  • Design and manage white-glove logistics for VIP guests, including personalized travel arrangements, security coordination, private dinners, and executive gifting
  • Collaborate with editorial, technical, creative, and marketing teams to ensure alignment and readiness
  • Maintain and update production calendars, checklists, and documentation across all projects.
  • Ensure all events adhere to internal compliance policies, security protocols, and external regulations.
  • Develop contingency plans for high-stakes events.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, poise and discretion with a wide range of event participants and guests, including senior executives, policymakers, and high-profile speakers.
  • Serve as the confident and composed on-site lead, directing internal staff and vendors, managing timelines, and resolving complex issues discreetly and efficiently
  • Research industry trends, production innovations, and new tools or technologies that can elevate our event experience.
  • Contribute ideas for how we can improve production processes, on-site flow, and audience engagement.
  • Support the upkeep and scheduling of The Washington Post Live Center, ensuring the space is event-ready at all times.
