Senior Events Marketing Manager (Contractor)

Unity Technologies•San Francisco, CA
•$55 - $105

About The Position

We are looking for a seasoned, high-impact senior event professional to join our team for a 4-6 month engagement. This isn’t a role for someone looking to learn the ropes; we need a "plug-and-play" professional who can immediately step in to drive planning and execution for our regional user events alongside other 3rd party events. You will work in lockstep with our senior team to manage heavy-lift logistics, vendor relationships, and tight timelines. If you are an expert at navigating complex event ecosystems with zero ramp-up time, we want to talk.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of proven experience in high-impact B2B events (specifically large-scale global user conferences or roadshows).
  • Deep familiarity with the event lifecycle, allowing you to manage complex logistics from Day 1 without extensive training.
  • A track record of sourcing and managing large-scale production and hospitality partners under tight deadlines.
  • Expert-level skill in developing ROS, floorplans, and technical production schedules.
  • Immediate fluency in Google Workspace and Splash (or similar registration platforms).
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable jumping into a fast-moving environment mid-project.
  • Sufficient knowledge of English to have professional verbal and written exchanges in this language since the performance of the duties related to this position requires frequent and regular communication with colleagues and partners located worldwide and whose common language is English.

Responsibilities

  • Step into mid-stream planning for GDC, Unite and other 1st party events, taking immediate ownership of established timelines and project milestones, or creating them yourself.
  • Manage and negotiate with vendors across AV/production, F&B, rentals, and experiential builds. You will be expected to review existing contracts and close gaps in sourcing quickly.
  • Build and maintain detailed load-in/load-out schedules, run-of-show documents, and onsite staffing plans.
  • Potentially onsite execution by managing crews, troubleshooting live issues, and overseeing logistics to ensure brand-standard delivery.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, life, and disability insurance
  • Commute subsidy
  • Employee stock ownership
  • Competitive retirement/pension plans
  • Generous vacation and personal days
  • Support for new parents through leave and family-care programs
  • Office food snacks
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing programs and support
  • Employee Resource Groups
  • Global Employee Assistance Program
  • Training and development programs
  • Volunteering and donation matching program
