The Senior Events Associate is a strategic partner in planning and executing TAAF’s portfolio of hosted and sponsored events. This role goes beyond operational support to include event strategy, program design, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring each experience reflects TAAF’s mission and values. The ideal candidate has significant experience managing both in-person and virtual events, demonstrates strong project management skills, and is comfortable making decisions with accountability. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5–7 years of experience in event management, program coordination, or related fields, preferably in nonprofit, cultural, or partnership-focused environments.
  • Proven track record leading both virtual and in-person events from concept through execution.
  • Passionate about TAAF’s mission and the ability to communicate it effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple complex events simultaneously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to propose improvements and influence event strategy.

  • Residency in New York or San Francisco.
  • Ability to work three days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of TAAF-hosted and sponsored events, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid experiences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and external partners to design events that are strategically aligned with TAAF’s mission.
  • Manage venue sourcing, site visits, negotiations, and vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality execution and cost efficiency.
  • Own event budgets: develop, monitor, and reconcile financials while ensuring adherence to organizational guidelines.
  • Curate guest lists, manage registration, and oversee audience engagement strategies.
  • Research and identify speakers, programmatic themes, and community partners, providing thoughtful recommendations for event content.
  • Prepare briefing documents, run-of-show materials, and other resources for leadership, speakers, and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Lead on-site event management, troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth execution.
  • Collect post-event data, feedback, and insights to inform future strategy and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and support junior event staff or interns when applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.
