Requirements

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience as an estimator in the municipal/ industrial construction industry, specifically in concrete construction.
  • Proven experience in preconstruction and working on large-scale projects such as water bearing structures and complex process related facilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
  • Proficiency in using industry-related software for cost estimation and take-off (Timberline, Blue Beam, and other related takeoff software).
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A deep understanding of the construction industry and a drive to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades.
  • Coordinate with project management teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and specifications.
  • Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Provide technical support to project management and business development teams.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure they meet project specifications.
  • Support and maintain a comprehensive database of cost and statistical data.
  • Collaborate with engineers, clients, and subcontractors on project cost estimates.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in municipal concrete and structural steel construction.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide input on planning and scheduling.
