About The Position

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading all phases of the estimating process, from conceptual budgeting through final bid and project turnover. This individual will work closely with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and operations teams to develop accurate and competitive estimates. This position requires extensive tilt up estimating experience. Candidates must have a proven background estimating ground up tilt up projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Extensive experience estimating ground up tilt up construction projects is required
  • Strong experience estimating industrial and commercial construction projects
  • Experience preparing conceptual budgets, GMPs, negotiated work, and competitive bids
  • Strong relationships with Northern California subcontractors and suppliers
  • Experience estimating projects ranging from $10 million to $200 million or more
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead conceptual, schematic, design development, GMP, negotiated, and hard bid estimates
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and complete cost estimates for ground up commercial construction projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and other project documents
  • Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and proposal proposals
  • Prepare bid packages, scopes of work, and estimate summaries
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost saving solutions
  • Participate in design meetings and provide preconstruction support
  • Maintain current market pricing and historical cost databases
  • Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  • Identify project risks and develop cost mitigation strategies
  • Support procurement planning and project buyout
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations teams to ensure a successful transition from preconstruction to execution
  • Build and maintain long term relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and design partners throughout Northern California
