About The Position

Our client is seeking a highly motivated, charismatic, and experienced Estimator III to support our nationwide sales team from our Torrance, CA office. This role is part of the Engineering & Estimation Department (EED) and will support both Sales and EED teams with client interactions, consultations, designs, and proposals. The Estimator III will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and written proposals for new and existing clients, with a strong emphasis on Physical Security Systems and IT Network Infrastructure. This role requires a well-rounded background in networking fundamentals, including switching, routing, wireless connectivity, and server infrastructure, with specialized expertise in physical security system design and integration. The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing and estimating video surveillance, access control, and supporting network infrastructure, including knowledge of physical layer infrastructure, network switching, wireless backhaul, and server environments that support enterprise security platforms. Experience with the following physical security manufacturers is highly preferred: Verkada, Brivo, Hanwha, Axis, and Avigilon. Experience with Aruba and Cisco switching platforms is also highly desirable. Projects will vary in size across industries and project types, requiring strong technical design skills, communication abilities, and attention to detail. Requirements

  • Proven ability to perform the Senior Estimator role independently
  • 8+ years of experience designing or estimating enterprise IT network infrastructure and physical security systems
  • Strong knowledge of video surveillance and access control system design
  • Strong understanding of network switching, routing, wireless connectivity, and server infrastructure
  • Experience supporting physical security systems within enterprise IT environments
  • Knowledge of physical layer infrastructure, including fiber optic cabling, copper cabling, and pathway systems
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret RFPs, specifications, and construction drawings
  • Skilled at developing designs to improve system functionality and scalability
  • High attention to detail and proactive problem-solving ability
  • Understanding of project management principles and project lifecycle
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) background check
  • Must be able to pass a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with physical security platforms including Verkada, Brivo, Hanwha, Axis, and Avigilon
  • Experience with Aruba and Cisco switching platforms
  • Experience designing systems that include wireless backhaul for surveillance or remote connectivity
  • Experience with server-based video management systems (VMS)
  • Previous field or installation experience with network or security systems
  • Familiarity with structured cabling systems including fiber optics and horizontal copper infrastructure
  • RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer)
  • Manufacturer certifications in video surveillance, access control, networking, or wireless technologies
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, Aruba, or physical security manufacturer certifications

Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in pre-sales meetings with clients and internal staff to determine and document solution requirements
  • Interface with manufacturers, purchasing agents, suppliers, customers, and internal staff
  • Review RFPs, RFQs, SOWs, floor plans, and design documents
  • Design and estimate physical security systems, including video surveillance, access control platforms and supporting infrastructure.
  • Prepare detailed written documentation of meetings, calls, site walks, and scopes of work
  • Prepare comprehensive bills of materials and accurate cost estimates
  • Develop conceptual and design drawings using IPVM or Bluebeam
  • Evaluate and design supporting infrastructure including network switching, wireless backhaul, servers, and structured cabling
  • Review written proposals and BOMs to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
  • Support Operations teams throughout project execution by answering technical questions
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to develop scalable and reliable system architectures
