About The Position

Cycle Construction is a leader in civil and marine construction across South Louisiana. We build complex infrastructure projects with a focus on safety, quality, and strong execution. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator who can take ownership of the bid process—from early document review through final submission—while helping develop and guide the next generation of estimators.

Requirements

• 7+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction
• Strong knowledge of earthwork, utilities, structures, and marine scopes
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid (or similar estimating software)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction-related technology tools
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines independently
• Leadership mindset with willingness to guide and support others
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to attend site visits as needed

Responsibilities

• Leading the full estimating process for heavy civil construction projects
• Reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents to define complete scope
• Performing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
• Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Developing accurate labor, equipment, and material cost estimates
• Preparing and inputting estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid software
• Identifying risk, cost drivers, and value opportunities within each bid
• Collaborating with Preconstruction, Operations, and Project Management teams
• Supporting bid strategy, scope alignment, and final proposal preparation
• Participating in post-bid and estimate-to-actual reviews
• Mentoring junior estimators and supporting team development
• Promoting consistent estimating standards, processes, and best practices
