Senior Estimator
About The Position
RAWSO Constructors is seeking a Senior Civil Estimator who is a self-driven, proactive, and results-oriented team player. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who responds positively to pressure, makes firm and quick decisions, and takes ownership of their work. This role involves creating estimates and proposals, tracking them, setting up project costs, negotiating contracts, establishing schedules, and onboarding projects. The position also includes subcontractor and vendor solicitation, performing linear and earthwork takeoffs, and engaging in sales and business development. The Senior Estimator will communicate professionally with general contractors, owners, and municipality representatives, and cooperate within a team environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience (heavy civil) in a construction environment
- Minimum 2 years of college, preferably in a construction related field
- Experience in heavy civil construction related projects
- Ability to read plans
- A team player who works well with others or independently
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving
- Must be self-motivated, calm under pressure, and consistently able to meet deadlines
- Organized with the ability to multi-task
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Positive attitude

- Experience with HCSS HeavyBid, Building Connected, Bluebeam, Planswift, Microsoft Suite, Agtek, Project/P6, Spectrum
- Open to learn other software applications

Responsibilities
- Estimate and proposal creation
- Proposal tracking and customer follow-up
- Project and job cost setups (project handoff - precon to construction)
- Contract negotiations and redlining
- Establish project schedule baselines
- Onboarding projects, folder and file setups
- Subcontractor and vendor solicitation
- Linear takeoffs
- Earthwork volume takeoffs
- Sales & business development for potential new projects
- Professional communication with general contractors, owners and municipality representatives
- Cooperate and communicate with others in a team environment.
