About The Position

Sunroc is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team in securing large-scale commercial excavation projects. The role involves leveraging expertise in bidding, negotiation, and project management within a company culture that values people and growth, offering exceptional benefits.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or construction management.
Seven to 10 years of progressive estimating and project management.
Experience in management and road construction materials.
Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills.
Ability to review and analyze financial information.
Strategic thinking skills.
Knowledge of Viewpoint software, Primavera scheduling software, MicroStation and Inroads design software, Heavy Construction Systems Specialists (HCSS), Heavy Bid software and basic surveying and measuring equipment.
Proficient Microsoft Office skills, superior in Excel.
Ability to organize all aspects of the project and foresee and resolve project conflicts.

Responsibilities

Estimate and manage construction projects.
Mentor and train construction interns, project engineers, and field engineers.
Manage and review estimates.
Monitor employee training and certification.
Maintain recruiting, hiring, promotion, and corrective action.
Project, organize, and implement project budgets and work under contract.
Work to resolve procedures, complaints and construction issues.
Monitor and control project to ensure it is completed on schedule and within budget.
Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Formulate reports concerning work progress, costs, and scheduling.
Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts.
Maintain insurable driving record.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
