Senior Estimator

About The Position

The Senior Estimator organizes estimating activities of specific projects as they relate to estimating and preconstruction activities. The Senior Estimator prepares accurate and well-crafted bids/proposals that result in awarded contracts that are profitable and maintain the quality expected from the NRP Group. The Senior Estimator is also a key person in developing and nurturing relationships with vendors and clients and serves as a mentor to Estimators to assist in their development and growth. The Senior Estimator works under very tight time frames and is responsible for handling multiple bids/proposals and responsibilities simultaneously.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or Construction Management a plus) or equivalent work experience
5+ years of relevant experience estimating construction projects; multi-family experience preferred.
Familiarity with conceptual estimating, writing detailed scopes of work and reading blue prints.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel for tracking construction costing.
Driver’s License Required

Nice To Haves

Experience with On-Screen Takeoff and Sage estimating software programs a plus.

Responsibilities

Create a job specific preconstruction schedule.
Perform drawing reviews, identify and document scope crepe.
Create estimates on projects throughout the various stages of design.
Review and analyze subcontractor proposals.
Create overall project bid summary.
Review bid summary with director of preconstruction.
Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals and other documents during the various stages of design.
Identify value engineering opportunities.
Develop invitation to bid.
Set-up and attend pre-bid walk-throughs.
Create the project general conditions.
Solicit vendors and subcontractors for a project and ensure good bid coverage.
Create scopes of work for all subcontractors.
