About The Position

Obtains, calculates and compiles data for use in conceptual/bid proposal estimates, preparing routine estimates under general supervision. Responsible for ensuring that all quantity surveys and pricing are accurate and complete. Provides support for the development of bidding strategies by debriefing the salesperson of job elements. Leads the documentation management of the project, ensures all documents are complete and clearly conveys decisions made to sales and operations teams. Attends pre-bid meetings to discuss project specifics and scope. Participates in bid closings and estimate reviews. Balances workload and assignments to meet deadlines. Develops a value analysis study by defining alternatives to the proposed scope that are more cost-efficient. Manages action items from Post Bid and finalizes ISEC scope. Computes cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities and requirements, and labor. Demonstrates commitment to deliver outstanding service, both with internal and external customers. Takes ownership to personally resolve customer problems (or find someone who can). Listens well, asks clarifying questions, and checks for agreement with customers. Committed to following-up with customers in all instances in a timely manner. Strong sense of accountability - ensures that you will do what you say that you are going to do. Creates a personal connection with customers – smiles, warm greetings, acts friendly and respectful. Maintains a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience
  • Meets all Minimum Qualifications of Estimator I and II, in addition to the following:
  • High level of strategy, proactive engagement to move project through estimating effectively; holds others accountable
  • Earns trust to close out bid without management present
  • Actively seeks competitive information to provide insight to project team
  • Delivers comprehensive estimate/bid due to expansive supplier knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of ISEC products, services, processes and projects
  • Exposure to multiple or larger projects with increased scope and complexity
  • Independent decision making
  • Fully autonomous in position
  • Directs activities; offers recommendations and solutions
  • Demonstrates problem solving and mature judgement in anticipating and solving issues
  • Assist in development/mentoring of Level 1 & 2; may have multiple direct reports
  • May assist with hiring and performance reviews
