About The Position

The Senior Estimator leads the preparation of complex and high-value project estimates and plays a key role in preconstruction strategy, risk evaluation, and project pursuit planning. This role provides technical leadership, mentors junior estimating staff, collaborates with executive leadership, and supports successful project acquisition aligned with company growth objectives. Candidates should include their project list, resume, and preference for travel when applying for the role. Actual compensation within the posted range will be based on qualifications, experience, and overall alignment with the role requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive estimating experience, including leadership of complex bids.
  • Expert-level knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and cost modeling.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in estimating software and Excel-based modeling.
  • Ability to analyze risk, contract language, and market conditions.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of project financial performance.
  • OSHA 30 preferred, not required
  • CPR and First Aid preferred.
  • Pre-employment required; background check, including driving record, as required by client.
  • Valid Driver’s License Required

Responsibilities

  • Lead estimating efforts for large, complex, or strategic projects.
  • Develop bid strategies in collaboration with executive leadership and business development.
  • Mentor and support Junior Estimators and Estimators.
  • Lead internal estimate review meetings and final bid evaluations.
  • Prepare comprehensive conceptual, schematic, and GMP estimates.
  • Perform risk analysis, contingency development, and escalation forecasting.
  • Analyze market conditions and pricing trends.
  • Develop and maintain detailed cost models and benchmarking tools.
  • Build and maintain strong subcontractor and supplier relationships.
  • Participate in client interviews and proposal presentations.
  • Lead scope leveling and contract risk review prior to submission.
  • Support constructability reviews and early procurement strategies.
  • Collaborate with Operations during project turnover.
  • Provide cost guidance throughout design development phases.
