Senior ERP/MES Administrator

Atomic MachinesSanta Clara, CA

About The Position

Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler™ technology platform. This platform enables new classes of micromachines to be designed and built by providing manufacturing processes and a materials library that are inaccessible to semiconductor manufacturing methods. It unlocks MEMS manufacturing not only for device classes that could never be produced by semiconductor methods, but also for entirely new categories. Furthermore, this digital platform is fully programmable in the way 3D printing is digital—but whereas 3D printing produces parts of a single material using a single process, the Matter Compiler™ technology platform is a multi-process, multi-material system: bits and raw materials go in, and complete, functional micromachines come out. The Atomic Machines team has also created an exciting first device—made possible only through the Matter Compiler™ technology platform—that we will be unveiling to the world soon. Our offices are in Emeryville and Santa Clara, California. About the role: At Atomic Machines, we’re completely rethinking how things are built—and we need an ERP/MES Administrator with a strong manufacturing and systems background who can help connect our revolutionary technology to the systems that run our operations. In this role, you’ll use your technical expertise to manage and optimize our ERP and MES platforms, translating complex manufacturing workflows, production data, and operational requirements into well-structured system configurations and clear internal documentation. Your audience will include everyone from engineers and production staff to operations and supply chain teams. You’ll be part of a small, passionate team shaping the company’s processes and products, and your work will be key in enabling scalable, data-driven manufacturing as we bring a whole new category of devices to life. If you love diving deep into manufacturing systems and building processes that help teams operate more effectively, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements

  • Engineering background (BS, MS, or PhD in engineering).
  • 10+ years of experience administering, supporting, or implementing ERP and/or MES systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience working with manufacturing data structures such as bills of materials (BOMs), routings, work orders, and inventory records.
  • Familiarity with shop floor manufacturing processes and how they translate into ERP/MES workflows.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve system, workflow, or data issues.
  • Experience documenting processes, system configurations, and user procedures clearly and concisely.
  • Comfort working with data, reporting tools, or SQL queries to analyze operational or production data.
  • Comfortable with shifting priorities, quick changes, and a startup’s ever-evolving needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical systems to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset with an interest in improving systems, workflows, and manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering, production, supply chain, and operations teams to translate manufacturing workflows into effective ERP/MES system processes.
  • Develop and maintain production routings, bills of materials (BOMs), work orders, and manufacturing data structures within the ERP/MES environment.
  • Support integration and data flow between ERP, MES, and other business systems such as CAD, PLM, quality, and inventory management platforms.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, resolve data inconsistencies, and provide ongoing support to internal users across engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation, procedures, and training materials to help teams effectively use ERP and MES tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, and increase manufacturing visibility through system enhancements.
  • Support production launches by ensuring manufacturing data, process definitions, and system configurations are ready for new products and processes.
  • Build dashboards, reports, and data insights that help teams monitor production performance, traceability, and operational metrics.
  • Train and support users across the organization to ensure consistent and efficient use of ERP and MES capabilities.
  • Create guides, schedules, and templates for new hires so they can hit the ground running.
  • Keep an organized knowledge base of best practices, FAQs, and lessons learned.
  • Continuously refine our approaches to ensure the highest quality documentation.
  • Learn new tools and trends that can improve our docs and processes.
  • Keep an eye on user feedback and champion improvements whenever needed.
