About The Position

CNBC is seeking a Senior Equity Analyst & Reporter to identify compelling investment ideas through in-depth research, financial analysis, and industry engagement. This role involves direct interaction with C-suite executives and on-the-ground reporting to gather insights. The analyst must possess a strong understanding of financial statements, valuation metrics, and the impact of external factors like technology, regulation, and the economy. They will leverage relationships with Wall Street professionals to generate actionable insights and communicate complex financial information clearly and accessibly to CNBC's audience, explaining the rationale behind investment recommendations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in equity research or a proven track record of writing similar content at another major publication.
  • Demonstrated record of outstanding writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Strong quantitative skills and a proven ability to analyze complex data sets to provide fresh insights.
  • Deep understanding of financial markets and investment strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-intensity environment under tight deadline pressures to produce differentiated written research.
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to work with teams.
  • Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze balance sheets, income statements, and valuation metrics to identify shifts in company prospects.
  • Consider the impact of external forces such as technological changes, regulation, and the economy on research.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Wall Street professionals to generate actionable insights and fresh perspectives.
  • Communicate research and analysis with the depth of a Wall Street analyst and the accessibility of a skilled communicator.
  • Explain the thinking behind investment ideas to help the audience understand what to buy or sell.
