About The Position

Optum Insight is dedicated to improving the flow of health data and information to create a more connected system, aiming to reduce friction and drive alignment between care providers, payers, and consumers. Leveraging deep industry expertise and innovative technology, Optum helps organizations reduce costs while improving risk management, quality, and revenue growth. Optum is seeking an experienced Epic Orders Analyst to join its Information Technology team. In this role, the analyst will support, maintain, and optimize Epic Orders functionality to enable efficient, compliant, and high-quality clinical workflows. The position requires close partnership with clinical stakeholders, IT teams, and project managers to deliver stable and effective Epic solutions.

Requirements

  • Epic Orders Certification
  • 4+ years of customer facing experience in a healthcare environment
  • 4+ years of experience supporting Epic EHR systems
  • 4+ years of hands on experience working with Epic Orders
  • Solid understanding of clinical workflows
  • Ability and willingness to work Pacific Standard Time hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Nice To Haves

  • Order Transmittal certification
  • Additional Epic certifications (e.g., Ambulatory, Order Transmittal, ASAP)
  • Bugsy experience
  • Experience supporting Epic implementations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives
  • Proven solid analytical, problem solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and support Epic Orders to align with clinical and operational workflows
  • Partner with clinicians and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and optimize system functionality
  • Support integration and interoperability with other Epic applications
  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform ongoing maintenance, and provide end user support
  • Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, testing, and validation activities
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, workflows, and training materials
  • Ensure Epic build and workflows meet regulatory and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with project managers to deliver Epic initiatives on time and within scope
