Senior Epic BMDI Integration Engineer

About The Position

As the Senior Epic BMDI Integration Engineer, you will be a leader within a team of smart, engaged BMDI analysts. You must have a strong sense of ownership for tasks and projects assigned to them and be willing to assist others when called upon and lead efforts when necessary. Participates in on-call rotations and Major incident resolution. Provides subject matter expert leadership for serial output and real-time HL7 interfaces; coordinates modifications; identifies issues and their resolutions; and tests to make certain the data exchanges are correctly formed (including software upgrades, patching, but not limited to). Heavy emphasis on Clinical product lines and workflow. Leads and coordinates code/peer reviews of multi-facility or application focused development work to insure it aligns to the business and technical requirements. Collaborates with application and project team(s) to define design and unit testing scenarios and test scripts in alignment with business and system requirements. Leads cross functional application development activities to achieve project objectives. Designs, develops, tests, implements, and maintains solutions without direction. Facilitates project meetings and dashboard status updates. Analyzes and translates business requirements into interface requirements. Maintains an expertise in Epic technology, applications and processes related to the support of real-time, HL7. Ensures interface implementation maintains appropriate PHI security compliance. Ensures EAI deliverables are completed in a time, on budget, and at the highest quality. Researches and recommends appropriate application and/or development best practices, and tools. Develops and applies business knowledge in multiple functional areas. Performs source code/versioning management function adhering to technical management guidelines. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Field Operations and vendors to support communication and medical device integration at the point of patient care. Generate and/or contribute to whitepapers and/or reports pertaining to medical device integration efforts. May be called upon to lead in major incidents or failure. Remote eligible.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Technology, Medical, or Business discipline or equivalent experience
  • 7-8 years experience
  • Experience and understanding of hospital (Clinical and/or Revenue Cycle Management) or healthcare work flows
  • 5-7 years of experience working in IT Application Systems Analysis, including Epic
  • 5-7 years of experience working on devices in a healthcare setting
  • Epic Bridges certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing senior-level support for Epic operations and project go-lives
  • Extensive Knowledge of Capsule
  • Experience working with HL7, HIPAA transactions sets, and EDI engines
  • Project Management Professional
