About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking individuals to work in their fast-paced hospital environment as Custodians, Housekeepers, and Janitors. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the environmental services department by ensuring staff have necessary equipment and supplies, responding to service requests, assisting with training, performing minor equipment maintenance, covering sick calls, and aiding with quality assurance inspections and project work. The primary goal is to maintain facilities in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, adhering to all relevant standards. Depending on the assignment, access to medication storage areas or internal software applications may be required. Continuous training is essential to stay updated on new developments and maintain knowledge in the field.

Requirements

Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
If assigned to AORN terminal cleaning of invasive procedure room, yearly certifications will be required.
If assigned to pharmacy rooms per 797 standards, yearly certification will be required.

Responsibilities

Ensure staff have the equipment and supplies needed for their daily assignments.
Respond to service requests.
Assist with training.
Perform minor equipment maintenance.
Help cover sick calls.
Assist with quality assurance inspections and project work.
Maintain facilities in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner in accordance with current Federal, State, local, and facility standards.
Attend all required trainings for position as well as those designated by the department.
