This position is responsible for conducting various environmental investigations, performing wetland impact analyses and permitting, and supporting ecological assessment and/or restoration projects, while applying knowledge of ecological principles, environmental practices, and federal, state, and local regulations. Some project management and business development activities are also required.

Experience with compliance coordination for U.S. Endangered Species Act, Rivers and Harbors Act, Magnuson–Stevens Act, etc.
Experience writing natural environmental technical reports, field delineation reports, impact assessments, environmental inspection reports
Experience documenting methodologies and findings of research and field investigations
Experience characterizing and assessing environmental resources (surface waters, wetlands, forests, streams, soils, plants, and wildlife)
Experience collecting resource data and samples during field investigations
Experience analyzing and managing data collected during field investigations
Experience determining the location, scale, scope, condition of, and impacts to, natural resources
Experience collecting field location data using GPS
Experience creating maps and other graphic materials using GIS software
Experience collecting water quality, vegetation, fish, macroinvertebrate (plankton, benthic) and sediment samples

Responsibilities

Conducting various environmental investigations
Performing wetland impact analyses and permitting
Supporting ecological assessment and/or restoration projects
Applying knowledge of ecological principles, environmental practices, and federal, state, and local regulations
Project management
Business development activities
Preparation of scopes of work, fee proposals, and responses to RFPs
Engaging in other business development opportunities
Managing projects
Preparation of NEPA documents, including writing environmental setting and impact analyses sections
Assisting and/or managing (with supervisory oversight) various state, federal, and local regulatory permit application processes, such as those for Clean Water Act Section 404/401
Providing documentation as necessary for coordination of compliance with the U.S. Endangered Species Act, Rivers and Harbors Act, Magnuson–Stevens Act, etc.
Writing natural environmental technical reports, field delineation reports, impact assessments, environmental inspection reports, and similar reports with supervisory input and oversight
Documenting methodologies and findings of research and field investigations
