About The Position

The GE Vernova Environmental & Properties Risk team in the GE Vernova Supply Chain Development organization provides strategic and technical support to manage environmental risk across the GE Vernova global footprint. As a member of this team, this Senior Project Manager will serve as a lead project manager for a portion of GE Vernova’s portfolio of remedial projects. In addition, this Senior Project Manager will serve a key support role for the assessment and mitigation of environmental risk in transactions – including mergers & acquisitions, real estate and restructuring activities – and strategic initiatives. This Senior Project Manager will work closely with team members from Environmental & Properties Risk, real estate, sourcing, special projects, strategy, finance, legal, EHS, governmental affairs, communications, operations, and facilities to provide technical leadership and coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University or College in environmental science, geology, engineering, biology, chemistry, or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ applied project management experience in environmental, remediation, environmental transactions and/or EHS within a company, regulatory agency and/or consulting firm.
  • Minimum of: 15 years of experience managing complex remediation projects involving soil, groundwater and soil vapor issues, including experience with PCBs, hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents; and/or 15 years of experience in providing environmental transactional support for real estate and/or M&A transactions including: Expert familiarity with ASTM standards and processes for assessing risk via Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing/using Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments to assess risks; and Experience coordinating environmental due diligence efforts for multiple, simultaneous, large, and/or complex transactions.
  • Ability to understand materiality, risks and trade-offs relative to other considerations.
  • Understanding of legal requirements, regulatory environment, environmental risk, reputational considerations, local issues, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation (oral/written) skills; public presentations both in person and virtual are an essential part of job function.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills within diverse teams.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating technical, financial, reputational and legal considerations for complex projects.
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude to understand and articulate complicated trade-offs.
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience working cross-culturally in large, matrixed organizations and ability to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to travel including internationally (~30% travel).
  • Proficiency with MS Office Programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the investigation and remediation of a portion of GE Vernova’s portfolio of remedial projects through the management of external consultants and coordination with key internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinating all aspects of the assigned remedial project execution, from initial risk review and project planning to final completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and budget constraints.
  • Technical delivery, schedule management, fiscal management, serving as an internal and external stakeholder liaison, reporting requirements, and coordination with project team members.
  • Providing technical support for other critical functions within the Environmental & Properties Risk group such as M&A, real estate and restructuring activities.
  • Provide strategic oversight, direction and communication including planning, progress, and financial updates to management on projects.
  • Manage and coordinate consultant teams to generate project cost estimates, scopes of work, proposals, and reports.
  • Preparing financial estimations and planning necessary for long-term projects.
