About The Position

ATI, Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior Environmental Project Manager for its Columbia, MD office. This role will support multiple Federal projects across the US, focusing on multi-year monitoring and remediation contracts, emerging contaminant (PFAS) investigations and remediation, and technical writing for reports and proposals. The Project Manager will collaborate directly with clients to ensure project deliverables meet scope and budget requirements. Key responsibilities include familiarity with various environmental remediation techniques, experience with the CERCLA process and report development, and the ability to plan and accomplish goals using experience and judgment. The role also involves delegating tasks to junior staff based on their strengths. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, personable, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of ten (10) years of total professional work experience.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in providing technical guidance on environmental projects.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
• Experience with the execution of Federal Department of Defense projects under CERCLA or RCRA.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience working under detailed quality assurance/quality control programs.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and other MS Office applications.
• Proficiency with common field equipment and sampling techniques.
• Experience developing and/or providing technical review of site assessments, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and other technical reports.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to travel periodically for site visits and meetings.
• Valid driver's license.
• 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training (per 29 CFR 1910.120) with current 8-hour refresher training.

• Previous project management or task management experience.
• A related certificate or license (e.g. PMP, PE, or PG certification/license).

Responsibilities

• Apply professional and technical experience to lead, support and/or oversee assessment and remediation of various hazardous waste/petroleum-impacted sites.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert on a wide range of environmental concepts, regulatory requirements, and remediation technologies.
• Provide support in the development and review of technical documents associated with CERCLA, Brownfields and State-led site investigations, remedial action plan processes such as risk assessments, remedial investigation/feasibility studies, long-term monitoring reports, and workplans.
• Provide technical support and oversight of environmental investigation/site characterization including planning, implementation, analysis, and reporting.
• Prepare, review, and deliver high-quality technical reports, regulatory submittals, and contract deliverables.
• Direct and/or conduct analysis of environmental data to delineate nature and extent of contamination.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders including state and federal agencies to ensure that project objectives and timelines are being met.
• Develop project scopes of work, task orders, and cost estimates.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and technical teams.
• Support marketing and business development in environmental services.
• Serve as a client-facing technical and project lead, maintaining strong working relationships with federal stakeholders.
• Mentor junior staff and provide ongoing technical guidance and professional development.
