About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join their Toronto or Ottawa teams. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), hybrid position, requiring two days per week in the office. The position will primarily support major transportation projects across Ontario, with opportunities to contribute to work across Canada and internationally as needed. The Site Assessment & Remediation (SAR) team specializes in managing environmental liability through comprehensive site investigations, risk assessments, and tailored remediation and risk management strategies. The SAR team supports a wide range of sectors, including transportation, infrastructure, water, power, and renewables. Requirements

  • Fully licensed and in good standing as a P.Eng. or P.Geo. in the Province of Ontario.
  • 15+ years of environmental consulting experience, including 6+ years of progressive responsibility in project planning, coordination, and management, with a focus on contaminated site assessment and remediation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04 (as amended) and Ontario Regulation 406/19.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and geographic regions.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply health, safety, and technical protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with major infrastructure, rail, and transit projects is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Scope and design environmental sampling programs, including identification of environmental indicators, chemicals of concern, and sampling constraints.
  • Develop sampling strategies, including frequency and timing, selection of sampling locations, data capture methods, and analytical parameters.
  • Ensure site assessments are completed in compliance with regulatory requirements and that appropriate action plans are developed and implemented.
  • Prepare site assessment reports that meet regulatory and client requirements, identifying potential risks and recommending further actions as needed.
  • Communicate site assessment findings to stakeholders—including property owners, responsible parties, regulators, and the public—through consultations and other appropriate channels.
  • Lead the preparation and senior review of technical deliverables, while mentoring junior staff and providing technical guidance to project teams.
