DNV Energy USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Environmental Permitting Specialist to work at our Houston, TX office. This role involves supporting renewable energy project site selection and characterization studies, leading the preparation and submission of permit applications, and coordinating environmental fieldwork. The specialist will author environmental reporting documentation, including critical issues analyses, technical permitting studies, management plans, Phase I ESAs, environmental impact assessments, mitigation and monitoring plans, technical project proposals, and agency consultation and stakeholder engagement programs. Additionally, the role provides support for technical due diligence reviews of environmental permits for project financing activities, organizes consulting activities with various stakeholder groups (federal and state regulatory agencies, local communities, Tribes/First Nations), and develops/maintains strong working relationships with Midwest regulatory agencies and/or other US regions. The position also involves maintaining sustainable relationships and good communication with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders, assisting in business development activities (proposals, client relationships, client meetings), and participating in DNV’s thought leadership activities. The role requires periodic work from home within a reasonable commuting distance of the Houston, TX office.
