Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of environmental consulting or regulatory experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and executing CERCLA, Brownfields, environmental investigation, remediation, and/or environmental compliance projects.
  • Strong knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, Brownfields, and/or related federal and state regulatory programs.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and developing technical staff
  • Proven success leading proposal development and supporting business development activities.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Expertise in environmental investigation and remediation practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop trusted relationships with clients, regulators, and team members.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting large federal and regional remediation programs such as the Bunker Hill, Portland Harbor, and the Hanford Superfund Sites.
  • Experience with abandoned mine land characterization, remediation, or reclamation
  • Experience with environmental statistics, data analysis and management, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Existing client relationships and demonstrated track record of developing new business opportunities.
  • Familiarity with environmental issues and regulatory programs in the Pacific Northwest and Inland Northwest.
  • Professional registration (PE, PG, CHMM, PMP, or similar) preferred.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical lead for CERCLA, RCRA and other related environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • Manage and execute site characterization, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, risk assessments, remedial designs, corrective actions, regulatory compliance activities, and information/data synthesis for decision making.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and work plans.
  • Prepare and oversee development of technical reports, remedial investigation/feasibility study documents, risk assessments, quality assurance project plans (QAPPs), and regulatory submittments.
  • Review project deliverables to ensure technical quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support client review of CERCLA and regulatory program documents related to environmental sampling, monitoring, and remediation.
  • Coordinate and work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including scientists, geologists, engineers, risk assessors, and subcontractors.
  • Analyze and interpret environmental data to develop practical, creative, and defensible solutions to complex environmental challenges.
  • Support environmental sampling and monitoring programs involving soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, house dust, and/or air; including the data analysis and management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and teaming partners.
  • Represent WSB at client meetings, conferences, and professional organizations.
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities aligned with WSB's services.
  • Support proposal development, including scopes of work, technical approaches, cost estimates, interviews, and presentations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level staff.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and professional development efforts.
  • Direct workload planning, staff assignments, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
