About The Position

At Plymouth Tube, environmental stewardship and operational excellence go hand in hand. We are seeking a Senior Environmental Manager to provide strategic leadership for environmental compliance across our manufacturing operations. This role will serve as the company's subject matter expert in air quality, wastewater management, and environmental regulations, while also supporting compliance with key European product regulations, including REACH, RoHS, and PFAS. Working closely with plant leadership, regulatory agencies, and cross-functional teams, this individual will drive consistent environmental performance, minimize compliance risk, and help strengthen our culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Position Summary The Senior Environmental Manager is responsible for leading Plymouth Tube's environmental compliance programs with a primary focus on wastewater management, air permitting, and environmental regulatory compliance across multiple manufacturing locations. This role ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and European environmental regulations, manages environmental permitting and reporting, and partners with plant leadership to minimize environmental risk while maintaining operational compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Seven or more years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing air permitting and wastewater compliance programs.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of air quality regulations and permitting.
  • Expertise in industrial wastewater compliance and permitting.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with regulatory agencies, plant leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage environmental compliance across multiple manufacturing locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with European environmental regulations, including REACH, RoHS, and PFAS compliance, preferred.
  • Familiarity with European environmental regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental compliance programs across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental policies, procedures, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance to plant leadership on environmental requirements and compliance obligations.
  • Monitor changes in environmental regulations and implement necessary program updates.
  • Manage all air permitting activities, including permit applications, renewals, modifications, and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local air quality regulations.
  • Coordinate emissions testing, monitoring, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for air permitting and regulatory inspections.
  • Oversee wastewater compliance programs, including industrial wastewater permits, monitoring, sampling, reporting, and treatment requirements.
  • Work closely with manufacturing operations to maintain compliance with discharge permits and pretreatment standards.
  • Investigate wastewater compliance issues and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Support projects that improve wastewater treatment processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and submit required environmental reports related to air emissions and wastewater programs.
  • Maintain environmental permits, compliance records, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory agencies and support environmental inspections.
  • Conduct periodic compliance assessments to identify and address potential environmental risks.
  • Serve as the company's environmental subject matter expert for European environmental regulations affecting products and manufacturing operations.
  • Manage customer and regulatory compliance requirements related to: REACH, RoHS, PFAS.
  • Coordinate environmental compliance documentation required by European customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor changes in European environmental legislation and communicate business impacts to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide environmental leadership and technical support across multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to evaluate environmental compliance and recommend improvements.
  • Share best practices and standardize environmental compliance processes across facilities.
  • Support environmental incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
