About The Position

EHS Support LLC is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist (Consultant) to lead complex environmental compliance and due diligence projects, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and multi-media regulatory compliance programs. This role requires advanced technical expertise, independent judgment, and the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges while mentoring staff and supporting client growth initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader, project decision-maker, and client advisor, ensuring high-quality deliverables, regulatory compliance, and alignment with EHS Support’s values and operating principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field with 15+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 13+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated progression in environmental consulting with increasing responsibility for technical leadership and client management
  • Strong expertise in environmental compliance and due diligence practices, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ASTM standards) and RCRA permitting requirements, including Part B permit applications and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently produce complex, non-routine technical deliverables with minimal review comments.
  • Proven ability to perform thorough technical reviews of reports and deliverables not materially authored by the individual.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical and innovative technical solutions to complex environmental challenges.
  • Ability to apply sound professional judgment to regulatory interpretation, compliance strategy development, and client advisory services.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead internal and external meetings, including complex client and regulatory discussions
  • Experience representing clients at public meetings, conferences, or industry working groups
  • Strong mentoring and coaching capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Independently apply advanced and diversified knowledge of environmental compliance principles and practices
  • Lead the technical scope of large or complex projects (e.g., >$75K) or multiple concurrent projects
  • Serve as lead author and technical gatekeeper for complex deliverables, ensuring accuracy, defensibility, and quality
  • Apply innovative or modified approaches to solve complex, project-specific environmental challenges
  • Conduct and oversee Phase I ESA site visits and compliance assessments, including projects ranging from $25K to >$75K
  • Lead project scoping, planning, and execution across a range of environmental compliance programs
  • Provide technical review of reports prepared by others and support development of advanced review capabilities
  • Present findings to clients and regulatory agencies and represent clients in meetings or working groups
  • Provide direction and oversight to Compliance Specialists and project teams
  • Serve as a Team Lead overseeing a team of approximately 2–5 staff, supporting project execution, workload management, and professional development
  • Mentor and coach staff on technical practices, field procedures, and career growth
  • Identify opportunities to enhance team capability through knowledge sharing and training
  • Support planning and execution of large, complex projects and programs
  • Complete Team Lead training upon successful integration into the Business Services Group (BSG)
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and act as a trusted advisor
  • Create strategic environmental compliance solutions tailored to client operations and regulatory landscape
  • Present technical findings and strategic recommendations to clients and stakeholders
  • Manage complex client issues and influence decision-making within client organizations
  • Support development of a client portfolio and contribute to overall client relationship strategy
  • Prepare and support development of proposals for small to complex projects (up to and exceeding $75K)
  • Participate in client outreach, conference engagement, and targeted business development initiatives
  • Contribute to marketing efforts, strategic growth plans (SGPs), and service line development
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of company service lines (BSG, REM, SRA, CAN, PTY) and capabilities
  • Act as a role model for EHS Support EH&S policies and foster a strong safety culture
  • Promote continuous improvement through open dialogue and training initiatives
  • Champion ethical and professional standards in alignment with company values
