About The Position

Exponent is seeking a Senior Environmental Associate/Scientist for its Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice in Burlington, MA. This role involves providing high-level support to clients and consultants on water-related matters, including impacted environmental media, drinking water treatment, industrial applications, and root cause investigations. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, environmental chemistry, and/or treatment operations. Requirements

Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
Hands-on experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, industrial water treatment, consulting, operations, management, and/or litigation support
Relevant experience in the areas of Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, including water/wastewater treatment process design, process optimization, food and beverage production, or consumer and/or small-scale devices development
Ability to synthesize and interpret complex engineering practices and associated water quality data sets for forensic and root cause analysis investigations
Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines, and effectively communicate within multidisciplinary teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong commitment to personal and company marketing
Presently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with water quality regulation (e.g., Safe Drinking Water Act) and permitting a plus
Experience in use of field equipment for the collection of surface water and groundwater, soil, and sediment samples is a plus
Experience in the evaluation of multiple analytical techniques for the assessment of environmental conditions
Subject matter expert experience a plus

Responsibilities

Conducting engineering and technical analyses, and preparing clear written communications and reports
Supporting multidisciplinary project teams on complex, challenging problems
Assisting a wide range of clients with water-related challenges, spanning from polluted waters and sediments, to drinking water applications, industrial wastewater treatment, food production processes, storm water handling, water recycling, contaminated groundwater treatment, energy generation, health and consumer products development, and many others
Pursuing professional development opportunities, including conference presentations and journal publications, to improve professional visibility
Developing existing client relationships and expanding business opportunities
