Senior Enterprise Architecture Lead

Accenture Federal Services•Washington, DC
•$139,300 - $282,500

About The Position

Accenture Federal Services is hiring a senior architecture leader to drive architecture initiatives and set technical direction across a large, complex federal account with a diverse technology footprint. The role spans AI/ML-driven capabilities, call center and contact center modernization, cloud infrastructure across AWS GovCloud and commercial AWS, Azure, and GCP, enterprise networking and connectivity, DevOps tooling such as Terraform and GitLab CI/CD, and FedRAMP SaaS tooling and integration. The role independently identifies where account architecture needs to evolve, builds consensus across teams and stakeholders, and carries initiatives from concept through delivery. It is a peer technical leadership role to the Architecture Lead, with an independently owned portfolio. The position establishes and enforces technical direction consistent with security-first and FedRAMP Moderate/DISA STIG defaults, including encryption, least-privilege IAM, and secrets management. It owns architecture decisions and reviews for a defined scope and handles technical and client escalations within that scope. The role coordinates engineering teams, resolves integration and design conflicts, builds stakeholder relationships, and represents architecture decisions and account-wide technical status in client and stakeholder settings. The role guides infrastructure-as-code practices, owns or substantially influences GitLab CI/CD and DevOps standards, and drives AWS architecture decisions with security-first and observability-forward practices. It also owns or influences enterprise networking decisions, including site-to-site connectivity, hybrid and multi-cloud network design, VPN/Direct Connect strategy, segmentation, and routing. For AI adoption, it partners with the teams leading AI/ML and GenAI work, evaluates architectural and operational value with a security and compliance perspective, and connects those teams with the broader engineering organization to align with account-wide standards. US citizenship is required, as is the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance. The listed base pay range for specified states and the District of Columbia is $139,300–$282,500 USD. The employer accepts applications on an ongoing basis with no fixed application deadline.

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide architecture initiatives and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST, DISA STIG, and security-first architecture principles.
  • Experience with enterprise networking and hybrid/multi-cloud connectivity architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Drive architecture initiatives across the account’s technology portfolio, including contact center platforms, cloud infrastructure, networking/connectivity, and application modernization.
  • Set and enforce technical direction aligned with security-first, FedRAMP Moderate, and DISA STIG defaults, including encryption, least-privilege IAM, and secrets management.
  • Own architecture decisions and reviews for a defined scope, and handle technical and client escalations within that scope.
  • Coordinate engineering teams across the technology stack and resolve integration and design conflicts across teams.
  • Build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive initiatives across team boundaries.
  • Represent architecture decisions and account-wide technical status in client and stakeholder settings.
  • Guide infrastructure-as-code practices, including Terraform module structure, state management, and security scanning.
  • Own or substantially influence GitLab CI/CD pipeline standards and account-wide DevOps practices.
  • Drive AWS architecture decisions, primarily for GovCloud, using security-first and observability-forward standards.
  • Own or substantially influence enterprise networking decisions, including site-to-site connectivity, hybrid/multi-cloud network design, VPN/Direct Connect strategy, segmentation, and routing.
  • Ensure networking designs meet FedRAMP and DISA STIG security and compliance standards.
  • Serve as the account’s technical authority for networking questions that cross team or cloud boundaries.
  • Partner with teams driving AI/ML and GenAI initiatives, evaluate proposed uses for architectural or operational value, and bring a security and compliance perspective.
  • Connect AI-focused teams with the broader engineering organization to align adoption with account-wide architecture standards.
