Join the EDC Team! At EDC, we support Canadian businesses to succeed globally. We provide the financial tools and expertise they need to explore new markets, reduce risks, all towards the goal of making Canada and the world better through trade. The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC: Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation. Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization. Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade. Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences. Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a compact but highly influential team within the Digital and Technology Solutions (DTS) group that provides critical strategic and tactical services to and on behalf of other functions at EDC. The team is architecture as a service oriented meaning that it embraces its role as an influencer and facilitator of achieving concrete objectives and outcomes that are typically actually executed by other groups. The team defines the digital strategy and technology target state that enables EDC business strategies and facilitates its execution through enterprise frameworks, forums and actionable insights that shape planning outcomes and inform technology decisions. The EA team has accountability to ensure other architecture disciplines as well as corporate platform teams and relevant COEs are aligned with executing their parts of the digital strategy through various governance and collaboration functions. EDC’s Digital Roadmap is premised on a key architecture principle of consolidating disparate, isolated business applications onto fewer market leading platforms to meet business needs, including for example Adobe Experience Manager, Salesforce and ServiceNow, supported by cross-cutting enablement, data and technology platforms including Microsoft 365/Azure and Data Bricks – although not all business needs are expected to be supported by core corporate platforms and some niche applications will always be required. Operating within a robust end-to-end architecture governance flow from strategy, objectives and key results to solution design review and effectiveness monitoring, the Senior Enterprise Architect will embody aspects of Enterprise Solution Architecture to facilitate cross-functional direction on the use, scope, boundaries and enterprise alignment of major corporate platforms as they are implemented through the execution of EDC’s Digital Roadmap. Ability to apply and explain enterprise architecture principles and distil and communicate enterprise architecture vision into actionable direction that facilitates well-structured technology delivery is critical. This requires practical knowledge of enterprise architecture disciplines and a commitment to effective collaboration across business stakeholders, architecture domains, platform teams and various COEs that all work together to build EDC’s technology target state in a way that enables EDC 2030 business strategy objectives.
