The Enterprise Architect (IT) for Corporate Aerospace is a strategic role responsible for defining and governing the enterprise-wide IT landscape. The position connects business strategy—particularly in aerospace engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and flight operations—with the technology solutions that support it. The architect develops technical debt resolution plans, legacy application rationalization plans, multi-year IT roadmaps, and technical standards to support digital transformation, operational efficiency, system reliability, and security across corporate and mission-critical IT functions. The role involves identifying risks, costs, schedules, and support constraints and recommending options to the business. It requires knowledge of software development processes and DevOps and DevSecOps practices, as well as communication with application and system owners, leadership, partners, and vendors. The architect must translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, manage architecture deliverables to completion and on schedule, and understand business systems, applications, hardware, software, and the relationship between technical and business processes. This is a union-represented position at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. The position offers a stated summary pay range of $121,900–$186,900. Eligible employees may enroll in benefit programs, which generally include health insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time away from work. A Kansas aviation tax credit of up to $5,000 per year for up to five years may be available to eligible employees.
