The City of Lodi is hiring a Survey Party Chief to lead the field survey crew on all survey related duties including, but not limited to, operating a total station, GPS, digital levels, performing topographic surveys, running level circuits, using AutoCAD and other survey software to process survey data, preparing baseline drawings for the engineers, designing various City projects, reading and preparing engineered plans for construction staking, maintaining GIS maps and other databases of survey related items. This position regularly includes digging and hammering for construction staking as well as carrying survey equipment and supplies over a variety of terrain (asphalt, concrete, dirt, rocks, slopes, etc.) and in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in algebra, trigonometry, and related mathematical operations necessary to perform the duties of the position, have experience on a survey crew, and be familiar with AutoCAD.
