About The Position

VSCO is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of server, web, and full-stack engineers. This team will focus on building a business management platform tailored for professional photographers, providing tools for client management, scheduling, invoicing, and workflow automation to help them streamline and grow their businesses. The role involves leading and developing engineers, staying hands-on technically as a player-coach, owning end-to-end outcomes, removing obstacles, and collaborating across departments.

Requirements

10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time as a hands-on IC building production systems at scale.
5+ years of engineering management or technical leadership experience (including people management without a formal EM title) on user-facing products.
Strong familiarity with Go, TypeScript/React/Node.js, including the ability to write, review, and reason about code in these stacks.
Product sense that extends beyond management, with the ability to reason about scope, suggest alternatives, and help shape product development.
Demonstrated hands-on experience applying AI tools and workflows in software development.
A track record of leading team adoption and embedding AI-enabled practices to improve productivity, engineering velocity, and operational efficiency.
Commitment to people leadership with demonstrated outcomes in facilitating team success and fostering a culture of technical rigor.
Ownership mentality, including resolving blockers, driving decisions, and accountability for team success.

Nice To Haves
