About The Position

The Senior Engineering Manager leads a multi‑site engineering and reliability organization supporting four Wisconsin Taste, Texture & Health (TTH) manufacturing plants, overseeing capital strategy, process optimization, and technology leadership to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for the engineering function across four Wisconsin manufacturing plants. The role ensures full compliance with all Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), Quality, and dsm‑firmenich standards while driving reliability, capability, and continuous improvement throughout the sites. The Engineering Manager is accountable for elevating plant performance through effective management of assets, technology, capital investments, and engineering work processes. The dsm‑firmenich TTH Wisconsin Hub supports two site leadership teams across four physical locations: Germantown McCormick Germantown Mequon Menomonee Falls Waukesha These plants collectively support three key businesses: Cultures, SDI, and Taste.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Biological Science, Engineering, or Food Science
  • ≥10 years of work experience with Food Manufacturing or a related field.
  • ≥5-10 years experience with industrial Food manufacturing and processing
  • ≥5-10 year experience with CapEx Management
  • ≥5-10 year experience writing and presenting technical reports
  • ≥5-10 year experience of project management
  • SAP or other similar business management software
  • Lean Six Sigma certification: GB or higher

Responsibilities

  • Drive plant performance improvement by optimizing safety, food quality, reliability, energy efficiency, and operating costs. Lead management of change and the overall multi‑site project portfolio.
  • Lead the implementation of new business and R&D initiatives through robust Technology Transfer Protocols and Management of Change (MOC) processes, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient integration into operations.
  • Initiate, lead, and govern capital projects across all sites, from concept to commissioning, while managing the multi‑plant project pipeline and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance capability and capacity.
  • Advance manufacturing technology and in‑house technical expertise to leverage process innovations, automation, and new opportunities that strengthen competitiveness.
  • Manage and continuously improve operational technology (OT) systems, ensuring cyber‑security compliance and reliable integration between production equipment and digital infrastructure.
  • Improve plant reliability by leading execution of dsm‑firmenich engineering and reliability work processes, implementing best practices, and developing a strong reliability culture within each site.
