The Senior Engineering Manager - Utility Review & Design uses creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems. This position also makes decisions and recommendations that are authoritative and have an important impact on extensive organizational activities. Requirements

  • Proficient with electronic communication including email and text, as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE), equivalent, or authorization of CLPO
  • Member of professional practice organization, national board member or officer, recognized expert on statewide activity, resource for national activities and organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of engineers and technicians who are responsible for reviewing, planning, and executing deliverables that meet or exceed Quality and Client Requirements
  • Assist in developing standards and guidelines for your technical discipline
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to your team and others in your discipline, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Manage the performance, development, and training of engineering staff, and conduct regular performance reviews and feedback sessions
  • Represent the discipline group, as assigned, in internal and external meetings, presentations, and conferences, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, reports, and proposals to clients, senior management, and other parties
  • Provide input and feedback on the policies, procedures, and processes of the engineering group, and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Serve as the technical resource for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area
  • Keep informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, and identify new business opportunities for the discipline group and overall company
  • Prepare and review proposals, contracts, budgets, schedules, and technical reports for your discipline group
  • Support the recruitment, selection, and retention of qualified and diverse engineering talent
  • Be responsible for client deliverables, business development and client satisfaction
  • Successfully complete an approved course on oral communications
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values
  • Uphold the organization’s standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
