Senior Engineering Manager - Professional Services

TrackunitLondon, ON
CA$150,000 - CA$185,000Hybrid

About The Position

Trackunit’s Professional Services team is growing, and we’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our North American Professional Services engineering team out of our London, Ontario hub. This is a pivotal role at the intersection of people leadership, technical delivery, and customer engagement. Professional Services is where product depth meets customer impact. Our engineers work closely with enterprise customers to design and build tailored solutions on top of the IrisX platform — solutions that these companies either lack the capacity or the specialized skills to build themselves. As Senior Engineering Manager, you won’t just lead the team delivering this work: you’ll be involved across the entire project lifecycle, from shaping proposals and scoping engagements during pre-sales, through to hands-on delivery oversight and long-term solution maintenance. Our strategic mission is clear: accelerate customer onboarding, drive IrisX platform adoption, and deliver the kind of high-quality engineering that makes Trackunit’s developer experience a genuine competitive advantage for our enterprise customers in North America. You’ll start by leading a focused team of engineers, with a clear path to growing the team — and potentially the practice — as the business scales. This is a role for someone who is equally energized by developing people, owning delivery, and sitting across the table from a customer to scope what’s possible.

Requirements

  • You’re an experienced engineering leader who is equally comfortable in a customer meeting, a delivery review, and a 1:1 with an engineer. You understand that in Professional Services, leadership means owning outcomes across the full engagement — not just the engineering phase.
  • You have proven experience leading and growing software engineering teams, with a track record of developing people and delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • You bring project management experience in a professional services, consulting, or contract delivery context — you understand how to scope work, manage statements of work, track delivery against commitments, and navigate scope changes with customers.
  • You have been part of or led pre-sales and proposal activities — translating customer requirements into well-structured, commercially sound scopes of work.
  • You have a solid technical background — enough to credibly lead engineers, participate in architecture discussions, and make informed decisions about solution quality, technical risk, and delivery approach.
  • You communicate with clarity and confidence across audiences — from engineers on your team to senior stakeholders at enterprise customer organizations.
  • You foster an inclusive, high-performance team culture and genuinely get energized by helping others reach their potential.
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-based environment where priorities shift and no two engagements are exactly alike.
  • You embrace AI as part of modern engineering practice and can help your team adopt these tools effectively across the delivery lifecycle.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the construction, telematics, or IoT industry is a plus, but not required. What matters most is your ability to lead, deliver, and build trust with enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop your engineering team — inspiring, motivating, and growing a team of engineers through regular 1:1s, impact conversations, and a genuine commitment to helping each person reach their potential.
  • Own the full project lifecycle — from supporting pre-sales through scoping, solutioning, and proposal creation, to hands-on delivery oversight, and ensuring long-term solution quality and maintainability.
  • Drive pre-sales and customer engagement — working closely with account teams to shape proposals, define statements of work, estimate effort, and set realistic expectations with enterprise customers across North America.
  • Oversee technical delivery — maintaining a strong enough technical understanding to guide architectural decisions, review solution designs, and ensure your team ships production-grade software that meets both customer and platform standards.
  • Be the senior engineering voice in customer relationships — building trust with enterprise customers, navigating scope conversations, and escalating or resolving delivery challenges with professionalism and clarity.
  • Collaborate across Trackunit — building a strong internal network with product and platform teams to stay on top of IrisX capabilities, feeding learnings from customer engagements back into the product roadmap.
  • Shape the Professional Services practice — contributing to how we deliver, how we price, how we scope, and how we grow the Professional Services engineering organization in North America.
  • Champion The Trackunit Way — our approach to leading people and building products in a fast-growing SaaS business.

Benefits

  • A place in an agile growth SaaS business with real opportunities to grow internally.
  • International environment with regular check-ins and social events across teams, departments and borders.
  • We take your personal and professional development goals seriously and we support them through training, coaching and mindfulness as well as with an open feedback culture to enable you to identify your strengths and opportunities.
  • Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us or something we state in a job posting. We do offer a flexible setup and believe you best can structure how your routines look. And once you’ve chosen how you work best, let us know what you need: we’ve got you covered with the IT equipment you need.
