About The Position

The Display Products department is searching for a Senior Engineering Manager to join their team. This role involves leading an innovative, forward-thinking, and intrinsically motivated engineering design team. The Displays engineering team leads the industry with cost-competitive, innovative technology. The successful candidate will lead and mentor the Display Design and In Service Support team, consisting of Electrical Design Engineers and In Service Support Engineers. Electrical Design Engineers are responsible for circuit card design development and test for transition into production. In Service Support Engineers are the cognizant engineers of LRUs following transition to production, responsible for root cause/corrective actions for issues in production and the field, as well as managing tech insertions and obsolescence. This person will also support customer business related activities including contributing to bids, proposals, and customer technical presentations.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Successful leadership experience in developing certified flight deck displays
  • Proven record of meeting objectives and commitments
  • Possess a collaborative way of working
  • Demonstrated success in balancing system performance and affordability
  • Strong communicator, able to interface with the spectrum of individual contributor to executive leadership
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience related to the design and development of avionics displays is desired
  • Electrical design experience is strongly desired
  • Familiarity with AMLCDs used for avionics as well as emerging Display Technologies

Responsibilities

  • Technical leadership for a group of engineers to ensure program commitments are met
  • Ensures consistency with Collins Aerospace Engineering Processes
  • Ensures compliance with Program / Product requirements as reflected in design plans
  • Participates in the budgetary planning process through identification of staffing, facilities, capital, and support needs
  • Responsible for management and performance of engineering personnel to meet required deliverables
  • Leads wide range of entry-level to highly experienced Engineers
  • Demonstrates technical expertise in Displays and the associated technologies
  • Supports the development and upkeep of product roadmaps and participates in industry committees
  • Maintains awareness of technology and Company's competitive position
