Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science or related field
  • Proven experience as a Lead Developer, and a Technical or Product Lead, in a small development team with 10+ years development experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in ASP.Net, MVC, Razor, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, RESTful APIs.
  • Strong proficiency with relational databases: mySQL, SQL Server, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and DevOps practices, experience with cloud services (GCP, AWS, etc.), CI/CD.
  • Strong systems administration and configuration knowledge in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for process improvement and innovation
  • Strong business acumen and ability to drive strategic initiatives
  • Embraces and facilitates change management effectively
  • The ability to work independently and willingness to travel as necessary (for required, in-person staff meetings)
  • A passion for helping others / embracing the “Outward Mindset”

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of / desire to learn and adopt advanced and rapidly changing technologies
  • Experience with accounting and financial reporting
  • Advanced experience with cloud services (GCP, Azure, AWS)
  • Experience with Power BI or other BI tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric

Responsibilities

  • Lead development across the SDLC, at all levels of the stack, and personally implement at a high level of competence to support the team as needed.
  • Propose and drive improvements to architecture, code quality, and long‑term maintainability.
  • Translate requirements into well‑designed, maintainable implementations.
  • Continuously learn and apply understanding of YPTC business processes, accounting practices, and reporting needs.
  • Mentor developers through code reviews, design feedback, and offer day‑to‑day technical guidance.
  • Monitor work in progress, unblock issues, and clarify ambiguous requirements.
  • Set clear expectations around quality, testing, and delivery.
  • Manage Jira boards, sprints, releases, and issue lifecycle.
  • Write clear Jira issues covering requirements, architecture, and implementation guidance.
  • Oversee Git workflows, including branching, merging, and release preparation.
  • Review, test, and deploy changes across dev, QA, and production environments.
  • Coordinate technology changes with other departments such as data warehouse, system integrations and data consumers.
  • Oversee Windows and Linux VMs, scheduled tasks, scripts, databases, and backups.
  • Serve as point person for application support, triage, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Read logs, diagnose issues, and ensure timely resolution.
