We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Lab Technician to support advanced hardware validation, power electronics testing, and lab operations for next-generation semiconductor and power delivery systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong lab discipline, excellent troubleshooting skills, and experience supporting hardware bring-up in a fast-paced R&D environment. The Senior Lab Technician will work closely with PMIC designers, systems, and test engineers to execute validation activities, maintain lab readiness, improve test efficiency, and support production-readiness efforts for next-generation power delivery and semiconductor systems.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years in hardware lab or R&D environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, function generators, and thermal test equipment.
  • Experience supporting hardware bring-up, debug, validation, or characterization.
  • Strong soldering, rework, and prototype modification skills.
  • Familiarity with at least one automation or data analysis tool such as Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Ability to read schematics, follow test procedures, and understand basic electrical measurements.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with high-current, low-voltage, and sensitive electronic hardware.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain lab discipline in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with power electronics, voltage regulators, DC/DC converters, semiconductor devices, or power delivery systems.
  • Experience with semiconductor evaluation boards, device characterization, or application engineering labs.
  • Exposure to ATE systems, bench automation, or production test environments.
  • Basic understanding of DFT, reliability testing, and production screening concepts.
  • Experience with ESD controls, calibration systems, inventory tracking, and lab safety procedures.
  • Startup or fast-paced product development experience.
  • Experience supporting EVT, DVT, qualification, or production-readiness programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support board-level bring-up of power electronics and semiconductor-based hardware.
  • Execute validation, characterization, and reliability testing based on engineering test plans.
  • Assist engineers with debug of power converters, evaluation boards, test fixtures, and prototype hardware.
  • Capture, organize, and summarize test data, waveforms, and observations clearly and accurately.
  • Identify abnormal behavior, document issues, and support root-cause investigation.
  • Perform fine-pitch soldering, component replacement, board rework, and prototype assembly.
  • Support engineering change implementation on prototype boards and test fixtures.
  • Inspect boards and assemblies for workmanship, damage, solder defects, or handling issues.
  • Coordinate with engineering on rework priorities and documentation.
  • Set up and operate lab equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, function generators, and data acquisition systems.
  • Support automated test setups using tools such as Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar platforms.
  • Help improve test throughput, repeatability, documentation, and lab workflow efficiency.
  • Build, modify, and maintain test fixtures and evaluation setups.
  • Own daily lab operations, including equipment setup, organization, calibration tracking, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and ESD-compliant lab environment.
  • Manage lab inventory including cables, probes, fixtures, components, tools, and consumables.
  • Support incoming hardware inspection, labeling, tracking, storage, and controlled checkout/return processes.
  • Help define and enforce best practices for lab usage, equipment handling, safety, and documentation.
  • Partner closely with chip designers, power electronics engineers, test engineers, digital designers, and operations teams.
  • Support engineering validation and production-readiness activities.
  • Help establish disciplined lab practices.
  • Communicate clearly on test status, lab constraints, equipment issues, and technical observations.
